The architecture of Iran in the years after the Islamic revolution victory raises the question of what cultural factors and challenges in this period are the legacy of the Pahlavi era and the continuation of cultural challenges in that period and what are the components and features of Islamic republic architecture? The stategy of the research is to adopt a qualitative method by phenomenological way and take a hermeneutic approach and tries to reach a deeper understanding by using this method than it has been so far. The semiotic method has also been used. The analizing step is also descriptive phenomenological. The findings indicate the effects of dependence on the West, globalization, the conflict between tradition and modernity and the values that govern Iranian culture and its contrast with some of the cultural values of the West and the interaction of architecture and culture. The final explanation of the research includes personal assumptions and philosophical foundations from which the interpretation has resulted.
